Gun soudns
« on: August 17, 2006, 10:19:14 AM »
I'm looking for some decent gun sounds to mix into my "custom" sound pack.

I'm looking for slightly louder, harsher sounds. The kind that are more like "bang bang bang! Rata-tat-tat!" than "pewpewpewpew! puffpuffpuff!"

Know what I mean?

I kind of liked the way Sketchs' sounds came across, except he's got 5 shots for every 1 bullet. It doesn't come across well. And his are way too loud, level-wise.

So anybody got any suggestions?

Krusty, I found a clip of a live M2 firing (at least I THINK it's a live sound and not digitally sampled) that I've modified for AH. It loops almost perfectly with no hesitation or skipping.

But what if I just fire 1-2 bullets? I've done that on many occasions. Is there a way to chop it down so it loops seamlessly, but only has 1 round firing?

Krusty my man, I've just found and sampled my own M2/.50 cal sounds.

They sound really, really good and have that "Rata-tat-tat" but are a bit low, nothing that setup/sounds and raising the volume won't correct :aok

Shoot me over your e-mail and I will send them to you if you like, you will not regret it :aok

P.S: I have also sampled sketch's M2/.50 cal sound too, now you can hear each bullet individually. :D

Just went through mine Krusty and have a few of them singled out some.  Will end up putting together a pack of them for the planes.  Will take a few days to lay it all out.  Try Kazaa's stuff first and see if those will do.  If not let me know and I will edit out my pack and send get with Schatzi to get it uploaded unless she is tierd of hosting the stuff! :D

send 'em to "mark (at) nakatomitower.com"

Sketch, I liked the way they sounded, especially on a few planes (like the C202), but the levels across the board were high (engines, effects, so forth), as compared to all other sound packs and defaults. Mind you that's not a knock on the  work you put into it, more of a to-be-tweaked type of thing.

Sorry for the late response, been sick and busy at work.

The "blow your ears off" one was too "clinky" for me-- to much metalic sound mixed in with the boom. I'm playing around with the first set you sent right now, doing a little tweaking.
