Went to best buy after work and looked at this

Gateway AMD Athlon 64x2 3800+
2048 mb DDR
250gb sata (I think)
Nvidia GF 6100 (intergrated)
MS XP media ctr edition 2005
Box key bd and mouse 759 bucks

I pulled up task manager 55 processes running! wonder how long it will take me to clean it out
Anyway any known issues with this box? any modifying or upgrades needed right away?

The integrated video is not going to get the job done if you intend to play games on this PC. Hopefully it has a slot available for a graphics card or your going to be disappointed.

Mosq is absolutely right.  You'll need a video card to go with that.  I'd recommend an nvidia 7800 or 7900 of some sort, but a 7600 would work too.  Much below that and you're losing a lot of performance for whatever money you save.

You can probably save money by looking at best buy, but actually buying from newegg or another online source.  Only Frys is cheaper, but I've had some really bad experiences with frys return policies.  Newegg is pretty easy and they have reasonable prices.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

I have a NVIDIA 7600GT for 155,- EUR - very happy with it, and AFAIK about the only GC in that price/performance range. Cheaper is a lot slower, and the next better model about 100,- EUR more.
