What are you suggesting? That someone other than a moderator had anything to do with his/her decision to delete the thread? :noid

For the record, I have never complained to anyone outside of my posts here about anything anyone has posted.

I'm as curious as you as to why that thread was deleted but pressing it here will serve only to get this thread closed so back to the topic, which was what again? ;)

I've been working on my carputer this evening.  I haven't really done anything hardware-wise to it for about two years, and it's been working fine.  Over the past few months, though, I've been thinking about some improvements I'd like to make.

The recap, the computer is installed in the center console between the driver and passenger seat.  The monitor is on the dash, the power supply has been under the shifter inside the console (DC-DC power, no inverter), GPS under dash, 250GB USB drive under driver seat.

Occasionally, on hot days, it gets really hot inside the center console.  No problems, but I don't like the idea of it getting so hot.  Also, the HD under the driver seat is a Seagate and loud like a turbine.

So...  I took the back seat out, pulled the computer out, and began moving things around.  I've run a VGA cable out through a hole at the bottom of the center console to the trunk under the carpet.  I clipped the ends off a spare ethernet cable and ran it through the same path.  I'll use it to control things like the line that goes high to tell the computer to power up, reset switch, etc.  I'll keep a USB hub up front so that I only have to run a single USB cable back to the trunk where the PC will be mounted on the little hatch that opens into the cabin.

BTW, it's been 95-100F, so it's been a good weight loss opportunity.  :D

I've got this cousin who was a really good kid. As kids, I used to spend every other summer down in San Jose visiting him, and he'd spend every other summer up here.

Then we got all growned up. We lost touch. And he married this chick.

Turns out, she started cheating on him with a cop. And then all this nastiness started to happen wherein the entire SJPD basically drove the guy out of town. Beat the snot out of him, intimidated him, whatever.

Next thing ya know? My cousin is now in jail for trying to blow up some court house in San Andreas. LOL. He's now known as the 'Calaveras Bomber.' I shouldn't laugh but it cracks me up just thingking about it. :D

I've also got a coupla friends here that are cops.... and pretty much... there is no negotiating with them. They let eachother get away with anything. I was driving with this sherif who was WASTED and we got pulled over into a checkstop. He rolled down his window and the cop said "Duke? Get out of here."

As much as I want to choke on my own vomit writing this - it does not behoove you to get into some kind of kerfuffle with these people. Make nice and move on.

i think that you misunderstood me there...or perhaps i mis-conveyed my intentions...we have a friend on the force and i am hoping that he will help smooth this out.

i will add that to advice and consider it bestly however as i think i understand your meaning.

I don't get it... No way do I have time to do all the things I want to do and still be able to read a good book at night before I nod off...  admittedly... I don't watch TV or play any vid games other than AH for about 15 hours a month..

hell... I spend an hour or so here with my coffee and another with lunch and see as much of world events as I want.

Build something... get into the garage and build a hot rod or chopper..  metal work...hmmmmm.....

right now I am working on two cars and 4 different loads (handloading) for three different guns...  I am making new pistol grip for the mopar style shifter out of some exotic green wood from south america and am babysitting my grand daughter...  we went for a ride in the Healey yesterday and had a great time.

I need to finish some trim around the house and paint the outside with my new airless sprayer and I need to do some concrete work and install a window... I just finished up a plaster fireplace and some tile work..

All that and I still have to squeeze in some time for the girlfriend and catch up on some DVD movies with her.

I need to get down to my sons and spend some time shooting with him and working on his house and helping him with his 56 chevy

How in the hell can anyone be bored?  I can't wait to retire because work takes so much time out of my day.

What kind of airless did you get?
Does it have changeable, different size tips/nozzles?
I`ve been thinking about getting one, but not too familiar with them. I`ve worked mainly with compressor rigs autos, bikes, trailers, etc.

ahhh... airless.  I got a rebuilt wagner (factory reconditioned) with 25' of hose and a reversable tip (you flip it around to clear it if it plugs)

They only run a couple hundred brand new and will paint a half dozen houses before they are trash.... throw it away at that point.

they use standard tips.  You only need one for spraying a house... it will be worn out in 20 hours of spraying or so... they run about 15 bucks.

The model is a 770 or "paint crew" plenty good for a homeowner.   You need at least 25' of hose tho.

You can spray out 5 gallons of latex in about 20 minutes... You can do 100' of complex eaves in about an hour if you can stand on the ground.   most anyone can do a house in a day minus the trim and cleanup.

maybe nash should get an airless and spray his home?

A good way to liven things up, is to make original posts that everyone can participate in that doesnt require much thought or knowledge.  I'm sure that would be right up everyone's alley ;)

Ex.  Favorite Movie,  Worst Service in a Restaurant, Name that Poster, Most Intense Driving Moment, Memorable College Basketball Game.....go ahead Nash get right on it ;)

One thing that never bores me is being on water, tho I do prefer salt water for the life that it contains.  If you have a small boat powered with a sail,  you will find a new world there... even if its just a board...
