Why in the world

Do companies pick the dumbest songs for ads?  It's quite clear they don't even listen to them, or care what thew "Real" message is.  Levi's pissed me off when they used Fortunate Son by CCR, granted only the first four lines, remember Fogerty was no fortunate son.

Then I see the commercial where a guy and a girl are walking straight through the city to embrace each other at the end singing.....Walk The Line.  Despite it being a horrible rendition, it's not even what the song is about.

KFC a few months ago used Sweet Home Alabama and now I can't listen to that song, they ruined it for me.

Vanz uses a Misfits song the lyrics are as follows
Quote
Hot cherry on Friday night
When the sun goes down my spine
I put an axe in my baby's head
I'm gonna end up doing time
Vanz isn't exactly a family company I guess, what with all the rebellious teens and their skateboards, but putting axe's in people's heads....

Another good thing about USSR: there were no commercials on TV. I mean - NO COMMERCIALS at all.

And no TV worth watching.

Limited food available to be purchased.   Exploding crime levels.  High levels of industrial pollution.  Rampant alcoholism.  Extreme amount of GNP spent on defense.  Secret Police.  Censorship of all media.  So many great things about USSR.

I believe Lewis Black made the correct statement on commercials
Quote
They’re extraordinary, they’re like mystery stories! You don’t even know what they’re selling, until the very end. Three rabbits are on a log, and one of them goes home and hangs himself- buy a bike!

Some of the commercials I actually enjoy.
The Capitol One barbarions for example are great

Others just kinda make you scratch your head.

There is a commercial for example for a pill to help you sleep

And in the part where they list the "side effects" They mention "Drowsiness and Fatigue" as being two possible "side effects"

Meanwhile, those of us with the good ReplayTVs haven't seen any commercials in ages.

My favorite button on the remote is the mute button. I don't have to hear the commercials.

What about the commercial of the cars that run around with the homosexual background music playing in it? Its the ones where it has something to do with a rabbit symbol at the end.  Either way that is one of my top 10 most retarded commercials I have ever seen
