I was one of those that was originally against night, but now I have come to realize something. It was the night that I hated, it was the 1hr long period of dusk and dawn. At full night I could see again, dusk and dawn I usually log off or sit in the tower.

night was horrible and gamey... dusk and dawn aren't much better.  Can you see the reaction of a new guy on a two week trial who fires up the plane for the first time and it's night time?   End of AH for him I bet.

Night -- don't care.  Never flew in it, can't know whether I would like it or not.

Tunnels -- yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.  They were annoying when an enemy was camped in one, but it also made things interesting.  They were also far better than the current "overpasses" we seem to have now. . . You know, the ones that are virtually invisible when looked at from the side due to their paper-thinness, and yet flip your tank if you hit one edge on.

Night was not changed because people complained in the BBS.  HT could not carre less what 1% of the player population has to say.  He probably looked at the server logs, saw that people were loggin off or not flying, and made his decision.  Only way it would change if he decides that the game/player base is different now, and he decides to run it as a test.
Have fun asking :lol

For me anyway, turning up gamma only helps during the dusk & dawn periods.  Turning it up during actual night time only made the cockpit and moonlight so bright as to wash everything else out.

I always thought night was cool.  But it was a problem if I was playing at high noon local time when the room was lit up on a sunny day.  I'd have to close all the curtains and blinds like I was a vampire or something.  :D

This is such a coincidence. For some time now my friends and I have been spending time in an 8 player room flying night  missions using the rhine map with snow. We have experimented with cloud etc... and even fly with icons off. The visual effects are amazing. There is a huge full moon, moonlight shimmering off the aircraft and features, the gun flashes in the cockpit are amazing,.  It looked so good that even though I am a total newb I decided to try and make a film which is almost finished. Heres the downer.....when you fly at night with no icons obviously the whole game alters. Now it becomes more realistic...no furballs just real hard work.   There are alot of guys who love to test there abilities to the max...then there are the guys who just like to dogfight . I have always said that we all pay the same and how we play the game is our own business. If anyone is interested in seeing this film when its finished let me know. I hope to post it with a webserver.

I loved it when it was dark, made things a lot more interesting and you could take a break from that God-awful glaring Sun.

Its unfortuante you had a bad experience or something. I've always found HT and crew very accessable to all the players. He might not post on the BBS in EVERY thread. But, he does listen,  just not to ppl that throw out wild demands and have tempertantrums. Honestly Most ppl wouldnt respond to thos kinds of posts
There have been many things we as players have asked for and gotten. Not everything for obvious reasons. at the time in ah1 many requested night be removed...and it was but, night then and night now is WAY different. ppl have asked for certain planes and...we got em. so your statement that HT doesnt listen to his players is unfounded

The man still has a bussines to run, and alot of work day to day (unless he is gofing off and flying around dallas) IF you really think he doesnt listen, call or email him. Keep in mind tho that any email he sends you "might" need a translator and or a spell checker lol. Personally id go for calling him. half the time he is the one answering the phones anyways
Crap now I gotta redo my cool sig.....crap!!! I cant remeber how to do it all !!!!!

FYI.  you have something on your nose.  :lol

Do you know this for a fact? or are you like the 6 dozen others who thinks they know exactly why HT does or does not do things? I just love the fact that HT has soooooo many spokes people to represent him.

I believe the initial request was addressed to HT and or Pyro.

Do I know for a fact that HT makes decisions based on what is good for his business (or atlist what he thinks is good) and that he does do some research before making the decisions? :lol  No, but I sure hope so or this game will not be around for too long.

Not trying torepresent him.  Just saing that if it makes business sence he will do it.  What 10 or 20 guys say or ask for is irelevant.

This game is full of people who think they are not irelevant, :rofl
