Everything you add, exept blue clean sky,
you just loose more and more fps.

We are not tourists here to look around for graphics,
who you will forget after 2 weeks.

Gameplay is what counts and maybe some graph but
only if you dont sacrfice fps.

Contrails are caused by certain atmospheric conditions, and if you look closely not all planes will create a contrail, based on altitude, atmoshperic conditions, speed, etc.  So there is no reason to add them to the game.

Lets not get too far afield here, I assume that bag is talking about not only exhaust contrail, but wingtip contrail which occurs in hard manuvering.

(A bunch of you armchair aeronautical engineers are about to come in here and say 'No kurt you're talking about Vorticies'.... Don't bother, because I'm telling you that wingtip vorticies are present on any wing that is generating lift at any time... I'm talking about visible condensation due to extreme low pressure above the wingtip in manuvering flight).

Wingtip contrail would not simply be eye candy, this would be a great 'tell tale' on how hard your opponent is pushing... AND it uses graphics that are already in the game (airshow smoke... except white only)...

The idea being that at lower altitudes, the contrail comes on at g-loads of say 4 or 5.

This was/is not an uncommon phenomenon in hard manuvering aircraft.

A simple particle effect isn't going to touch the FR of a computer made in the last decade.

Maybe not, but think about the extra coding HTC has to put on the planes. And the extra advantage you have knowing your enemy is really pulling g's.

Probably not, the cessna 172 is certified to 3.5 or 4 positive G (Can't remember, its been a while) and manufacturers are required to build in some buffer... I'd wager a 172 could take 6G or maybe a bit more without crashing if a capable pilot was at the controls, but it is likely that there would be some structural damage at that point or shortly thereafter.

I thought we had this effect?  I was in the tower one time and saw a Spit come blazing down to vulch someone, he pitched away and turned hard, I thought for sure I saw a contrail briefly.  Squaddies saw it too and assumed it was a game effect.

Or...we're all cheap drunks who fly at night :)
