The Media is changing.

Aint it great.

The internet is taking the next big leap, and is demolishing the monopoly of the big media companies that has ruled the airwaves of the TV and sattilite dishes for so long. Now whit the speeds and bandwith of the internet everyone is able to get their views out there.

You still have to have an open mind on what is propaganda or not. You have to be able to take things with an grain of salt so to speak. As you always should have been doing. For sure. But so many more views and oppinions about issues are getting "out there", just in the last year ive seen peoples behaiviour regarding "what you take in" changing, that Im really thrilled about this.

When you can search and watch information that you yourself are interested in, and you aint getting spoon fed information. Then its good times. Of course we have been able to do this in the written form. But when it comes in the form of Video it really does hit home with people. Because we have been raised with the fact with "all that you see on television is true". When you have to engage your braincells and ask yourself "what do i want to watch today", and not just flip thru the channels hoping to find something that suits you, then its indeed good times.

I for one is trying to anylize where to spend money on stocks, because this really is the next big thing regarding media, internet and the IT as an whole. Digital TV, Satillite TV or rather Broadcasted media as an whole will take an big hit as more ppl wake up and realise that you truly can choose what to watch.

Sure, ppl still have to produce and get the shows out there. But the choice still will be so much greater then the stuff we are fed today.

Good times imho.

Not sounding too cynical I hope but isn't net neutrality going to torpedo this media revolution?

Plus what I've seen so far I'm not particularly thrilled about. Seems everyone with a modem is posting something, and makes it harder to view the issues without wading through gigabytes of utter crap. Not relevant perhaps but YouTube and now Google video comments - 1/3rd are saying its fake, 1/3rd saying its real and the last 1/3rd are trying to sell non-prescription drugs or porn.

People will bookmark whatever sites mirror their own personal agenda's, the more popular sites will turn into smaller versions of the media outlets we have now and nothing really will have changed except the names.

As for stocks, anyone who offers net searches purely on images or video, eg type in 'small man in bowler hat gets smacked in the mouth by a trout' and voila, you have exactly that and not a picture of a rocket launcher inexplicably called smallmantroutaccident.jpg

Imho Youtube and Google video is only the beggining. Sure google is going to be an strong contender in all this, just because of their strong search feature. But surely this _is_ the internets next big thing. Streaming video that is...

When you have people ripping the broadcasted media, and they are putting it up on the net in small pieces, then you can choose what to watch. You have to engage your braincells and ask yourself what you want to watch today, instead of flipping thru the channels hoping to find something that you might like.

The streaming technology in itself is fairly easy to use, so more private people can have their voice heard in well produced matter. Wich will make people take them more seriously.

This is all good. The big coorporate media will of course try to stop this, with lawsuits regarding spreading their copyrighted material. But it will be too late, the ball will allready be rolling. They need to act now if they want to stop this.

In another note, i dont think the coorporate media is too content that you can almost find reruns of any news show or other produced show out there. Before, they themselfs controlled the whole rerun thing. But thats not the case now. This is also an good thing in so many ways.

I would rather get the obvious bias from both sides and make up my mind than to listen to the newspapers and TV who pretend to be unbiased.

The internet is a great source.
