if they (flares)were released from the C-17, then why is it heading toward the smoke, in place of away from it??

The plane's heading towards the camera, so are the flares.. The center of the eye vortices are furthest back.

maybe because of the freakin huge wing and those 4 freakin hugh round things hanging under the freakin hugh wing?  That hugh freakin wing probably creates a hugh amount of freakin turbulance and it needs a hugh freakin stab so the pilots can fly that hugh freakin plane...

In case of an emergency the elevator section separates and becomes another airplane. Kinda like Start Trek, but no phasers, bald captains or chicks in camel-tards.
