I've just been going through my ammo like crazy lately...I was lookin around to restock, but it seems everyone is sold out or over priced for copper jacket. Was wondering if anyone knows a good place to get some? I just need practice ammo, was using wolf (I know some people don't like it, but I've only had one jam in my SKS with over 1000 rounds).
I used to get it from J & G for about $110 a case, now they only carry bi-metal (Can't use steel at my range  ).

outdoormarksman.com has the copper jacketed (yellow box) Wolf stuff more often than anyone.  They are out right now though.

Copper has become expensive as hell. So much so that people are stealing copper pipes.

What OOZ662 said

Last week I had to part with $120 for a 25kg bag of copper sulphate (bluestone) when earlier in the year I was only paying $60 a bag

The price of copper is now five times more than it used to be only a few years ago, mainly because of the chinese. Tell them to stop consuming it so much :)

Cabelas.com
Bassproshop.com
Sportsmansguide.com
Cheaperthandirt.com

All within $10 - $20 in price.

I just got 1000 rds, and it took about 6 weeks to receive because of backorder. Even gun shows, which usually always have an abundance have been short. They all say the war is sucking dry the supply.

Are you burning through te expensive ammo? I ask because I use the cheapo stuff for blasting and plinking, no problem with blowing 1K in a weekend then. I keep some TAP on hand for range work or SHTF, but use it far more sparingly.

I've had good luck with the Yugo steelcase berdan primed 7.62X39mm. I bought 10 cases for around $100 each years ago. They of course do not meet your copper requirement though.

Never had a commie rifle fail with cheap ammo, in fact even my ARs consume Wolf with no FTF/FTE problems, but even Wolf is not cheap compared to iron-curtain surplus...non-corrosive my arse!

A lot of sites listed here, but AFAIK only outdoormarksman.com stocks the copper jacketed Wolf ammo Seraphim was asking about.

Grab a Mosin Nagant or an 8mm Mauser. Still plenty of cheap surplus ammo in those calibers. I enjoy shooting my SKS and SU-16CA (.223) but ammo is getting expensive. Those old bolties kick like mules but ammo last a lot longer during a range session.

That's all bi-metal unless I read it wrong which is quite possible.  :)
