Next tour: Try A New Plane tour
« on: August 23, 2006, 11:33:17 AM »
So i've made a vow that I'm going to primarily fly LAs next tour. Why? Because I'm sick of 'em! Maybe (just maybe, by cod!) I'll ram that feeling right back down their own throats!! HAHAHAH!

Okay, so how's about we have a "Try A New Plane" tour? Just fly something you normally don't. If you already fly the 109G14 a lot, flying the 109G6 doesn't count. Not a different type, but a different plane. If you're a 38 junkie fly the P47, or if you're a lgay pilot, try the dora.

Get the idea?

What do you think? Who's up for an unofficial "Fly A New Plane" tour?

You can post your thoughts on the plane as the month progresses, but you've got to stick with it. Heck the learning curve for 1 plane is a long time, you won't even scratch the surface (unless you choose "spitfire" -- which 90% of you already fly, can't select anyway! :lol ).

Any takers? Have to claim in advance. Not saying you can't fly other things, but when you're not in a mission, when you're not doing squad night, you need to fly this type of plane. Then after a tour you will have a greater understanding of it and can fly whatever the heck you like.

My ride next tour: Lavochkins

It's just a thought. If you don't like there's no obligation. This is along the lines of the "Best kills in a P40B" idea from some time back.

Actually, I kind of do that now.  I have a "Plane of the Month" that I'll fly when the squad isn't doing anything official.  My favorite ride is still the Hog, but I force myself to fly other stuff just to get a better understanding of them.  Last month was the Hellcat, this month is the 38J, and I'm still working on next month.  Maybe the Mossie, or one of the Japanese planes.

Are you doing this just to have an excuse to be Lghay all month?;)

Actually we've been doing just what you suggest in 880 squadron. We started twe months ago with the F4U1D , last month was the F4F, this month is Hellcat month.:)

Krusty I'd thought about doing this about a month ago myself.  Generally I fly the 51 or the 38 but I'm thinking next tour either a spit or the f4u.  I'll save the LA LA for last because I hate hate HATE them since they kill me all of the time :)

It's not so much an "excuse" as it is "I threatened that I'd jump, so I'm gonna jump!"
