heh, it is fun to see the difference in philosophy between US and European carmakers. Europeans, such as Porsche and Ferrari, jaguar and so forth (well, European in origin, even if it's mostly US owned now  ) go for highly sophisticated, relatively light weight, aerodynamically sound cars with good handling and a relatively powerful engine.

Americans do it the American way; they apply the principle of "if you put enough hp on a brick, it'll fly" approach. One typical American trait I've found is a devotion to sheer power, and cars is really just an expression hereof  . They'd rather take an extra 150 hp and a cruel arse look than some fancy smancy designer stuff.

Nice car  .

Actually it's about the same weight as the 911.  Just as fast.  Half the price.

Cool NUTTZ. Very nice Goats. The first one looks like a picture that me and my buddies would have taken in front of my friends house after rebuilding the engine in his '74 TA. God those were the days. 1982 I was a Junior in High school. I had a '69 Chevy 3/4 ton pick-up with a hot little Corvette 283 that my dad had built to the hilt. It idled at 1000rpm and sounded like it was going to die. Redline was 7,500rpm and it didn't run worth a crap tell you got it to 3 grand. Then it would pin you to the seat. I drove the crap out of it and my dad took it away. Then I bought a '73 Olds Cutlass Supreme with a 350 Rocket. That was one tuff old bird. I drove it for 8 years and thrashed it most of that time. My grandpa had also given me a '69 Nissan Patrol that was a fun little ride. I was the only kid I knew of in school that had two working cars to drive.   That picture brings back a lot of memories that don't seem like they should be that long ago. LOL!

Wobble, I used to have a 99(98?) vette that same color for a month, now my father owns it. I think I posted a few pics of it a long time ago
Funny how they give you a graduation gift and it turns out it was a gift to themselves

I would trade it for that red car there tho. Damn it looks cool

As a total vette nutt I would probably kill someone for that,

My friend Fonsie (ayyyyyy) was "given" a 98 Mustang GT for his graduation, he got to drive it about a year and then when his sister turned 16 his parents gave it to her and now he drives his dad's old blue POS chevy pickup that has enough rust to start a wold wide tetnus epidemic.

parents can be sick basterds.

Oh BTW did you do anything that they could use as an excure for taking the vette? speeding ticket perhaps?...Im sure I would get a speeding ticket..I would consider it wrong NOT to

Not a good idea to hit the pedal here, many of the pigs in my area drive souped up '99 Mustangs. I'm pretty sure I'd give them a run in the vette but I dont wanna try.

He just decided one day that I was a mistake and that I was going to kill myself in it. Plus there is no insurance company that would give someone my age a full cover on a CORVETTE.
I also barely drove it during the day for fear that someone might key it in a public parking, etc, so I was always askin him for his car.

On friday nights when I go nightclubbing with my girlfriend he usually lets me have it. There is nothing like passing by the best disco in town in a vette, paying the vallet guy, and skip the long line because I have VIP

But thats a lifestyle I cant live everyday. If I ever break that vette, I'm done for.

AFAIK even a Cobra cannot outrun the stock vette in a straightaway...seems like a vette could corner better aswell....dont take my word for it though..

Ya I know the Insurance can be a pain in the ass, I was going to buy a dodge stealth RT turbo a while back, with a trad in I would have only had to finance 6000 dollars to pay it off, but you have to have full coverage to finance anything and the lowest quote I got for it was $380 a month! (had a few wrecks a while back)  But in a few months my record will "clear" as they call it and I should be able to get a better deal if I find something....I want a vette but I know I wont get one..maby a 81 model or so, I like the old styling alot, and they are still fast as hell.
