"Nightmare scenario" and "Pandora's Box"...I counted these terms over the course of an hour (yes, I have even less of a life than most of you).  I quit counting at 15 total.

What do you 'mercans think of these terms?  Potentialy accurate or just more left wing scandal sheet CNN b.s.?

I also just love the lack of attention the calling of the state of Florida for Gore is getting in comparison with the ballot issue.  I'm sure that since most west coast people hadn't voted yet the GOP lost as many votes or more than Gore did as a result of poorer voter turnout and people in the Republican phone centers literaly walking off the job when they heard the news in Florida.  IMHO the only fair way to do this is to recall the ENTIRE election, for the whole country, or not do it at all.

Many Canadians follow the US election more closely than our own, since our process is anything but a democracy and is in fact quite boring in comparison as well.

You don't want my opinion of the main stream press, since I would be using George Carlins "7 words you cannot say on TV".  Therefore, I get my news from many sources via the internet, where little nods of the head,raising of the eye brows at 'just' the right time, emphasising phases at just the right time, etc. have no play on reporting the news.

How's Canada these days?  Prolly not politically F.U. as this country has been the last 35 years...

Well, Canada is pretty much in the same boat you are in at the moment.  The Alliance (think to the right of the GOP..woohoo!) has a chance to sweep the western Provinces right to the Ontario border, but east of that, it gets right interesting.  The best we gun toting ALbertans can hope for is a minority government I think.  

This will be the first election I bother voting in, since I like Stock Day (christian guy, has anti-gay rights platform I absolutely love, will repeal all the firearms laws passed in last ten years, etc etc).  On foreign policy etc the guy is a bit outclassed by others, but it isn't like we are in the power projection buisiness anyhow.  We can send our two squads of CF18's and F-5's to help out in Nato sanctioned missions (good friend of the family was one of the Canuck's bounced by Mig 29's in Kosovo..the ones the Danes F16's dropped..wtg Santa lol), but that is about it.

Yeah, right. If you think that then you don't know the difference between the two.

Just heard Bush won the recount by 324 votes. Now we start recount #3. Is this ever going to end? Does Gore have the class to admit defeat? I would not assume so as he does not have class in any other area.

The media is having a field day and will talk to any Joe Schmoe who has a spin on Florida.  They think (possibly correct) that the more wood they add to the fire will mean more ratings.  It's all about money, not politics.
