109F-4 10(JABO)/JG2 - just about done
« on: August 27, 2006, 09:17:23 PM »
Had a profile of this one for a while. Never did anything because I had no info. Then I got a book from the library that had actual photos of it.

I just want to add more stains to the wing roots as shown in the photo.

Wunderbar!

Now we just need an F that can actually CARRY those bombs... <>
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Looks great Krusty.

A few minor things.

1.  The solid green on top behind the canopy is not there in the photo.

2.  The green along the wing nearest the fusalage does not match the location over the flaps that the photo shows.

3.  Should the nose cone be darker?  Looks it in the photos.

4.  Are there "ribs" on the rudder?  Hard to tell with the light angle.

5.  Some color where the swastika would be is in the photos, might make that area less 'empty'.

6.  The ships are too big and you misspelled the second word behind the second ship. :rofl

Cheers.

Treize, ironic, no? I'm hoping they'll re-add the bomb some time.

Fencer:

1) Hrm.. by jove you're right! I was using a color template for the demarcation of grey/green. It's a tad too far forward, but nothing I can't fix!

2) I'm pretty sure the color on the photo isn't green, but an exhaust stain. The other colors are pretty smooth but it's blotchy and irregular. I'm adding large black stains in approximately the same area, to try to replicate this.

3) Hrm... started this a while ago. I know I had a strong reason for using that color on the spinner... I just can't remember what it was! I'll look into it again, see what I turned up.

4) There are control surface details. I consider them more depressions between the ribs. It's hard to tell because of the white and the light from that angle.

5) I'm the type of person that would rather leave it off than fill it in. Unless there's random splinter camo all along the side then I can fill it in nicely. This paint pattern doesn't allow for that, and I feel putting something there only draws the eye to the mistake. PotAYto, PoTAHto, 6 of one, half dozen of the other.

6) :huh Uhh.... Fixed. Yeah. Fixed.

I've also continued the grey mottling up the vertical stabilizer. Looking at the closeup shows blotchy colors that could be from another color. At any rate it doesn't look as solid as the skin was turning out in the same spot.

Aside from the added camo on the upper stab, which y'all haven't seen yet, are there any other comments?

Crap! Picture Hangar is down.

Anyways I've added some details here and there and I think I'm done but I'll post some final screens this evening.

Picture hangar is down. They've exceeded their bandwidth. I'm going to upload the latest screenshots to my own server in a little bit. The ones I promised I'd post, that is.
