Those of you who restore warbirds
« on: August 28, 2006, 10:05:36 PM »
Does it ever get old?  Do you have days when you are sick of looking at airplanes?

I just had the time of my life.  Crawling in the belly of a gutted B25.  Looking at the goop inside the wheelwell of a A6M2 that saw action against both the Black Sheep and the Jolly Rogers, now being prepped for painting.  Peeking under the plastic of a fully restored and ready to fly F4F-3 Wildcat.  Helping pull the prop off a Stearman that George Bush Sr. soloed in.

And the best part?

They'll let me come back and do more!

I know, I know, its not the same thing.  I just take direction, I dont mind getting greasy and dirty, and I know a wrench from a hammer.  But if this is as close as I can get, I'll take it and be happy.  :)  You guys have the best job in the world!
