TVNewser, courtesy of an eagle-eyed tipster:

CBS visibly altered Katie Couric's photo in its "Watch" Magazine, slenderizing her waist, arms and neck.

Yowsers! TVNewser id's the first photo as Katie's official CBS photo, taken at the upfronts in May.

Let's hear it for transparency and accuracy in the news! Paging Adnan Hajj...

They could have just set the paper on fire and then the smoke would have obscured her waist. Looking at the two pics it looks like they did more than just alter her waist. Her face and neck look slimmer also

Kinda reminds me of how they cropped in Dick Clark for the New Years Eve promos and kept saying he had a "minor stroke". So come New Years Eve, we find that he looks *mostly* the same but clearly had a pretty devestating stroke sounding terrible.

Agreed.

Not saying they weren't retouched, but if you look at the two pics closely, you will see they were taken from different distances. The one on the left was taken about 5 feet closer than the one on the right. That would explain the slimming effect.

Also Katie's about 5 foot nothing. Unless she weighs under 100 lbs she's gonna look chunky in pics.
