I posted a few days ago about my recent health woes...that spacey/unsteady/lethargic feeling.

I caught a 24 hour flu over the weekend that really wiped me out. By Tuesday I was really having a tough time so off to the ER I went.

Turns out all these woes Ive been dragging are allergies. The walk-in care Dr's just misdiagnosed me completely. The ER Dr was great, he noted my ears are full of fluid, my eyes and nose are showing serious allergy issues as well. He said "You've been fighting this stuff for a month? You must be miserable!"

Yes, I am

He put me on a nasal spray for a few days and Allegra. He said to add Sudafed to that as well otherwise I'll hang on Allergy Fatigue.

So while not a 100%, its assuring to find a Dr whose nailed what's the issue.

Unlike most allergy people, I didnt have any sore throat, sore ears or sniffling. Nor was I feeling stuffed up. But, my body was getting whammied.

So even if you dont THINK you are prone to allergies...guess again!

Ive had them bad since my late 20s. Most times its just a lughead feeling. As if all my sinuses had turned to cement.

Oh it sucks! I just wish the Dr's had diasgnosed it right the first time! I've been dragging these allergy things for over a month!

I for whatever reason developed allergies in the last 3 years. Before then, I never felt this way. Now, there's days my whole body is sore and I can't breath for damn. It sucks to because all the medication out there has side affects that don't really appeal to me.

My biggest concern is dehydration. I work outside in the sun and I'm going balls to the wall from 4AM to 9PM for 3 to 4 weeks strait at times. It's hard enough keeping enough fluids in me let alone take somthing that's going to dry me out on purpose.

I went to the ENT a while back due to some ear issues. They told me that as you get older, you can become allergic to things that you never have been allergic to in the past. or something along those lines of "getting new allergies".

Guns, have you tried Claratin or Claratin-D? I have bad allergies and I've had the best results and fewest side effects with it.

My example is almost a reversal of this, for the last two months I had been feeling congested and coughing, bad headaches from the coughing and breathless.
The first Doctor I saw put it down to a sinus infection and after 10 days of anti-biotics nothing changed so I went to another doctor who this time said that I had developed allergies, so as in the other case I was put on the nose spray and zyrtec.
After another two weeks of this and no improvement I went to see an allergy specialist, soon after he walked in and started to talk to me he said he could see no evidence of an allergy problem but he wanted to conduct some tests.
To cut a long story short after about 30 minutes it was decided that I had Emphysema and after just a week of treatment my lung function is a lot better rising by about 20%.
