blazing angels warning
« on: September 02, 2006, 06:59:23 AM »
Dont buy it.  It completely sucks.  Im not even sure if they allow a cockpit view.  God, I broke the rule #1.  Always read the games forum first.  This was a waste of 30 bucks, unless they can patch the flaws.  I loved il-2, and this had the ubisoft stamp on it, but man, is it trash.

You should go ahead and post a link to where it can be acquired for the helium voiced , two week wonders, who start whining in their Coco Puffs when they discover that you can`t get a " I`m a God" view in the MA in fighters. :)

actually i like the external views. I am annoyed that you cant have them in MA, but it makes it much more realistic that way. Alright so whats realistc about internall views while chasing Divebombing Lancs?

I'd have a better chance in running into a Dodo Bird in the middle of rush hour, walking down the I-5 with two hookers in tow before I see a useful post from glock89- Ack-Ack

I seriously doubt, even when he had a few snoots under his belt, that Pappy ever flew from outside the cockpit. :D
Why would you be chasing divebombing Lancs? More than likely they are about to become part of the landscape.
At one time FA might have been bearable for short periods of time, if you had a few cool ones beforehand if it hadn`t been for the Wonderwoman crap.

This thing was marketed as a pure Arcade escape.
You were surprised?

There is no 'arcade' game format warning on the box whatsoever, and I must have missed the commercials.  Yes I was surprised that a flight sim powerhouse like ubisoft would put such a POS.  Also, the initial game didnt support Joysticks!!  Would that surpise you?  They rushed out 2 patches to try to add joystick support for the game, but the first one didnt work at all, and the second one only supports roll and throttle for my particular joystick.  I have to use the keyboard for pitch and rudder.  Try that one out.  Surprised?  I was shocked and now I am mad.  They are not accepting any returns unless unopened.  I dunno, maybe i am asking to much of a WWII combat air sim. Ubisoft has lost my business forever.

In the early days of AH external views F3? were enabled. When HTC switched it off I got a swift introduction to the cockpit of my main ride, and I probably wasn't the only one ;)

I don't remember much of a stir when the external view was disabled and most players probably welcomed it. I think it was pretty well accepted that it didn't fit in with HTC's plans for the game

I agree. Although I am a tiny bit annoed at not being able to be in F3 mode, its mostly because It allows better views of the enmemy in a dogfight. However as I said it does add realism, and makes the game much better IMHO

NASCAR 2003 i always raced from inside the car... but I am freak like that.

there is no feeling quite like coming off turn four at daytona with a cigarette in one hand and a cold beer "on the dashboard" -- good times
