Gore carried 19 states, with a popular vote of 48,977,259.
Bush carried 29 states with a popular vote of 48,783,825
Click that link and take a look at that map. Looks like Bush carried alot more of the country than Gore did, but Gore is ahead in the popular vote because he carried the huge population centers (and Cali, why does it get so many electoral votes anyway?). Seems to me the will of the people has spoken
