Well sorry, but that's not correct. No offence intended.
I had a PIII 450, 256 ram and a Geforce 4 *MX* 420 that would pull this game at 25-35fps in low conditions.
I have the same card in now pulling 25-55fps.
Agree in large hords I would prolly suffer miserably, but the need of a monster machine is not really accurate. It's great if you have one, but it's not the all time the golden rule. It's all in the way you tweak the machine.
I know that I was pulling some fps on my 450 that some had problem pulling with a 1.8 ghz with 512. Simply because their machine had bottle necks that had not be removed. And I mean starting from the bios and working your way up to the end result.
I TOTALLY understand what you are though, don't get me wrong. But the rule of having the biggest baddest machine available is a bit of a myth.
Grimm and I showed examples a long time ago just to prove this exact point. We both had PIII 450s that would pull the game to an extent. PLayable in hords? no way, but we were making a point that unless you tweak a machine properly it doesn't matter what you have.
I'm sure I came off wrong here, but I was just trying to make a point different POV.
