have I got this right?  Democrats are going to hand count votes with democrat florida officials in democrat areas.  Now let me see, is it possible there may be somthing questionable about this practice??

I was under the impression that it was going to be an election judge doing the hand counting with a democrat and republican official present.  The three of them would have to agree on each ballot.

Doesn't seem nefarious, just very time consuming...

When you consider the original vote and any recounting after has resulted in different amounts, and the total is so close, a hand vote is not a huge suprise to me.  But why limit it to a few counties?  They should hand count the whole darn state since it was so close.

The Dem strategy seems to be to get the number as low as possible before litigation starts.

Yes, they will litigate. Don't kid yourself. Al has served with the "comeback kid" long enough to know if you ignore convention long enough, you get your way.

Hey, I want justice done. The process will go on, as it legally is able to. But I can formulate my opinion (actually, re-enforce the one I already have) about Gore. I honestly do not believe he, or anyone in that administration, have this country's best interests in mind....

Just compair how they are acting.  Bush is setting up his potiential cabinet and getting briefings on world issues. While Al Gore is playing touch football and making cheesey jokes trying to act like he's not causing any of this ruckus down in Florida.  They had a recount and now Gore wants a hand count, even before all the votes are in.

Each time they have a recount they open the door for somebody to cheat, and Gore knows that and is counting on it, in my opinion. There are some issues for florida to address about their election process, but the time to do it is before the next election, not right in the middle of this one after all the votes are in.  But without with victory Gore's life amounts to nothing so I'm not suprised he's willing to subvert the constitution to get his way.  You see to the Clinton/Gore administration the constitution is an obsticle, a barrier that thankfuly gets in their way.

One thing I was happy to see yesterday on CNN was more people protesting for Bush than for Gore   I was actualy quite shocked that CNN would show it...

The stealing of this election(yes, stealing, and if you doubt this statement look who is actively undermining the voting process, desperately trying to move the venue to the courts to decide the outcome with total disregard to the entire nation and the very people he claims to "fight for"!!!)started Tuesday night when the mainstream media announced Florida for Gore!!!

This act by the mainstream media was irresponsible.  This act is more egregious then having Democrats or Republicans in the voting booth with each voter!!!!  This act by the mainstream media has tainted the entire election process for this election and future elections!!!

We are due an explanation!! What I have heard regarding this issue from the mainstream media makes me sick.  They try to sweep this under the rug by saying it was a mistake!!!  Ya, right, O. J. just made a mistake too!!

NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, and any other outlet that reported the early result have no credibility.

The mainstream media have chosen sides as many of us have felt all along.  They themselves have proven us doubters correct in our assessment!!!

What can we do about it???  Sadly nothing!!!!!

The 4th estate is currently corrupted beyond belief!!  They no longer serve as watch-dog on government but now actively promote larger government, and give voice only to those who will undermine the Constitution(watch each of the 1st 10 amendments go down in flames over time)!!!  You who criticize them will be painted as fringe.  You who question them will be squashed.  You that hold a different point of view will be destroyed!!

Will these gutless wonders ever change themselves???  Will they ever go beyond the fax machine to gather news?  Will they ever stop creating news by using polls they themselves have commissioned???

Of course not!!!  They are safe in their current environment.  They think all is well and right with the world.  They have insulated themselves from the real world!!

They have made themselves arrogant and elitist!!!

Yikes!  What am I doing here?

I don't mean to be cynical, but if you start an election with two choices that have all the compelling attributes of mashed-potato sandwiches (white bread, thank you) then you are going to have a 'too close to call' election.

I don't think the founding fathers ever envisioned such a lack of charisma, leadership potential, and talent when they framed the rules of election.

Bush couldn't make it in the oil business even with a 3-generation legacy, and Gore never really finished anything in his life.
A pure politician in the worst sense.

This whole affair redefines mediocrity, in my humble opinion.  When people ask if we've outgrown the electoral college, it makes me laugh.  The real question is have we outgrown the Presidency.  Especially when the 2 parties can't dredge up anybody more appealing than these two.

If we have three branches of government: the Judicial, the Legislative, and the leaderless bureaucracy, what will have changed?

But I'm not meaning to be cynical.  And I don't really have an opinion.  As a matter of fact, I didn't post here.
