Friendly fire on bomber drones
« on: September 04, 2006, 04:43:38 PM »
Why do bomber drones have special dispensation from killshooter?

Each bomber has a separate damage model, if you are shooting at a con and all bombers are lazered in on the target, if the line of fire crosses one of your drones you should take damage.

I take damage in a fighter if i get hit by my own shell bursts (too close to target etc.)

Because formation bombers are the bicycles with training wheels for Aces High. They have to be immune to the things that more advanced players have to cope with in fighters and tanks. No KS with guns, no KS with ord, no KS on yourself.

Well they do take KS damage when shooting other friendlies.  I was pulling escort for a buff mission and one of the pilots took some practice shots on me thinking nothing would happen.  Well one of his drones exploded.

Unless this has been changed in the last few days, a gunner can spray friendly aircraft with no effect from KS. On topic, in a turn where your drones drift through your line of fire, there is no interuption in the firing of the gun positions, literally allowing you to fire through your own drones with no effect at all.
