It's one man's attempt at using a filthy term to describe a horde. A horde is bad enough, but we don't need that kind of term being thrown around.

I see. For a minute there I thought somebody was Hooked on Phonics.

Another question. What is the reason for the negative attitude towards the horde here on the bbs? At what point does a group become a horde? Is there a cut off line? Once past it you are now officially in a "horde".

i would disagree, as in the other thread, that it is a dirty word, let alone a filthy word.  it is certainly not a curse word:)  It at worst is a term to possible degrade a woman....then again..(ah won't even go there).  however at it's best it is a great descriptive word with alot of power-so much so that you might get a whole thread devoted to it.  example, it would be perfectly within the realm of the definition to say this...."i hate the corporate potatos of america." (meaning you are really angry that corporations in america will do anything to make a buck).

so to answear the original question, i guess a whorde would be a large group of players who will sacrifice gameplay and competition for the sole sake of hording.  on second thought, guess it is a pretty disgusting word.  Or, for you pervs out there, a large group of sheep....  hmm on second thought, n/m.

*if you read carefully maybe 2 questions answered at once.

In my OPINION  Pluck

as these boards and the game itself doesn't have an age limit to join it is an unnecessary term when 'Hoarde' itself was a sufficient nomenclature.  Amusing? absolutely.  Unnecessary... based on the general populace that is allowed to view these boards.  Yes.

Now I am FAR from a prude.  I can turn the air blue in a moment of rage or frustration and expletives do not offend me.  In fact I'm probably the hardest person on the planet to offend on an internet message board.  However I also believe that some restraint given the potential audience should be excercised.

Again... just my opinion.. you don't have to agree with me.

i hear ya, respect your opinion, and i'm not gonna attack you, i'm just not gonna agree that all:)  Kids learn "bad" words as soon as they go to school, from my experience; so i'm not sure how shocked or awed they would be to see something like that written.  thats when parenting comes in and you explain to them why they shouldn't use it.  i think if that's the angle your going to take, is then your not recognizing that kids know a lot more than what parents teach them.  Also, if your child is young enough that you worry about them seeing certain things on the internet.....well it might not be the best place for them.  (not trying to tell anyone how to parent etc, just adding my view)

at any rate its not for us to say if potatod is too much, that is mars' call depending on how he feels.  which is why free speech is great.  you could also say it on TV.  see its okay, he heard it on the television:)

Not against nor for your opinion...

But you can read the same word in the dictionary which will exist in every classroom your kids visit after Kindergarten.

intr.v. potatod, whor·ing, potatos
To associate or have sexual relations with prostitutes or a prostitute.
To accept payment in exchange for sexual relations.
To compromise one's principles for personal gain.

Doesn't mention anything about a group of self-indulging world war II pilots paying a monthly fee to fly make believe late war fighters with 30+ of their online "friends" in an attempt to rope, vulch, pick, cherry, kill steal, "gang" or "gang bang" every red dot they find flying alone in their path.  But I think you get what I'm saying here.  :D
