Tank roll overs
« on: September 06, 2006, 12:40:13 PM »
I wish that my 23 ton Panzer IV would not roll over when I hit a tree or bush in the forest.  Think it makes more sense that the tree or bush would give way to 23 tons of steel moving at 10 mph.  I would be happy just to have the tank stop, instead of rolling over.

When I run into a tree with my tank, I just stop. I don't know, maybe you have a special kind of panzer or something.:lol However, if you go hurtling down a hill in neutral, anything you hit is likely to make you tip your tank or roll it. Normally when you drive your tank into a tree you should just stop, although it would be more realistic if you could just smash the tree down.

for some reason if you get hung up on an obstacle, and keep the throttle on after a couple seconds your tank is thrown at about 20mph, somtimes literaly leaving the ground, im sure that its in the game to stop us terrible drivers from getting perminatly stuck, but this might be the cause of his rolling fits...

Seems to happen to me more often in Tigers than in Panzers - whoohoo!
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Lets start with the "no more invisible trees". I get hung up because I see no tree in front of me, and nothing im hung up on, and yet I just hit something invisible and stop. Its not until I back up about 20 feet, or zoom in that I can see the damned hedgerow.

go to your video options / graphic detail and turn down the detail of objects (top slider, I believe).  The trees won't look as nice, but they should stop being invisible (worked for me, anyway).
