I skated back when the boards had 1 tail (late 80's-early90's). What sucks is some of those boards I had and destroyed are going for like a grand on E-Bay now. The Steve Steadham and Robb Roskopp were my favorites , with a bias toward Santa Cruz and Gullwing trucks in general. Those Powell Peralta boards with the bonite layers were always too heavy I thought.
I'm too wack for a sig. (Camaro, not just a car, it's a lifestyle.)

The Santa Cruz borads were deffinatly lighter and I had a few of those. Gold Wings sucked imo and I only used Independent.

Goldwings and sliding on concrete and whatnot was not an option as the screw got screwed.

dude, that's when I skated! my first board was a Mark Gator, then it was Tony Hawk for my next 3 boards.... then I got a Jeff Phillips Prototype.... remember those with the coating over the bottom... the first board where you didn't need rails.
also swiss bearings, cross bones wheels, and Independent Trucks.

I used bones weels too!, but SKF bearings. Seldom used rails but still slided what i could. Needless to say i wore out my share of baords. Usually I got 2 of the same, put griptape on em both so id have a spare board in the bag.

LOL Nate, i forget what Powell called it but Santa Cruz called it "EVERSLICK" i had a Tom Knox back in the day (i was in college at the time)  that was my all time FAV! deck with Spitfire wheeles(95s) and Thunder trucks,  oh   dont forget the "flypaper"

Nilsen - they were GullWing trucks (like the f4U - hehehe)

i hated them trackers, gull wing, grind kings ........ for me it had to be thunders !  but the Indys and or ventures were just as good!

I skated mostly Minis some vert, lil street,...... but i can honestly say i actually ground a set of thunders down to the axle on 95% mini ramps with metal cope!  some nicely painted yellow curbs and a few bowls with good old fashion cement cope!!!

Man you guys butter quit!  cause im gonna have to go hit the Skate park up in Asheville (NC - 45 min drive)  looks nice - check it...........

i remember when i was 17-18 (now 34) and i was sk8in with a group of dudes that called them selves the "Freak Brothers" (like the high on comic books) they were 25- to 30 ish at the time and i though it was cool they still skated ............ Some of them dudes TORE IT UP! and they still sk8 today! some of them are in there 40s now~!

LOL  you gotta see these pix ...   this is a bowl some cats made and named it the "9bowl"

alot of this is old dudes from Detroit like Bill Tocco and Bill Danforth - they still rip it up !

Your only as old as you want to feel. Yes i hurt every day too but i feel like a million when i ride and get that au Natural high!

theres some good clip on this site!
here is one of one of the FREAK BROS , guy named Scott........... this kid was doing back side smiths like no other 20 feet, locked in solid with style! back in 1990...........
