Sorry Rip you are completly missing the point here : it's an international tribunal.
And you cannot juge our legales system as we have almost one completly different system for each country.
Some can compare to the american one ,like UK if I don't say an error but French and the system based one the "code Napoleon" are in no way comparable to US system

That make me sick

If in a "modern" society we behave like that what would be the difference between the criminal and the average guy ?
The middle age as ended there's a lot of century and I'm perhaps an idiot but I believe in redemption.

What kind of punishment should these guys have?
I kinda like that old "Hammurabi law"; It could be righteous to do in this case.

Sure is a sick world for the majority of us

I live in the UK and by christ i wish we had an american system for some of the sick crimes that happen here
Not too many details but here are a few examples of un-even sentences.....

Two men found guilty of one murder given life and i mean life......Farmer kills one intruder with shotgun second intruder escapes he got 25 years for protecting himself !!!!......and almost monthly child rapers/killers get sentences from 4yrs to 8yrs in cushy secure units
Now in other parts of the world would this happen ???  i think not
This country talks tough on crime (so the government says   bahhhhh) but gives very liberal sentences to some of the most hideous crimes imaginable
Life for life i say is fair, As for the child crimes and most of the other hideous crimes i'd gladly pull the hangmans lever/press a button to fry them switch a machine on to pump a lethal injection into them and ya know what ?  i think (damn know) i would be able to sleep at nights too

Our worst crimes are increasing here and to me there's one good reason why.....No darn Deterrant just Cushy places that cost the earth to build and operate where they will be safe n secure from any retribution from other inmates, Then don't forget the moronic sentences they get......given 4yrs with good behaviour they can be out in 1 and 1/2yrs and similarly a 10 year sentence can end up as a 4yr one and so on

I may sound a little strong worded but i knew a girl once who was raped and abused and to be frank it totally messed her up for life   (as in she has to take tablets to calm her allow her to sleep peacfully etc etc)and the bastard that did it got 6yrs and served just under 4yrs
The sentences passed for those warcrimes are a landmark, So personally i think they were lower than wished so that a sentence would be passed and supported by all the representatives involved (just my belief)

I say simply remove their sexual organs and throw them in a muslim jail with 'i raped a 15 year old muslim girl' tatood on their foreheads.
I say rapists in britain should be locked in a room with the victims family.Arm the family with spiked clubs (with rusty nails  )!
they deserve no pity...no rights...no mercy.

So do I straffo, but redemption should only apply to those who do NOT kill or rape with full knowledge of what they are doing. A thief can be redeemed, a drunkard can be redeemed, the guy that likes to walk naked in central park can redeem. But rapists and 1st degree murderers BLEW any chance when they commited their crime.

The difference between the average guy and the criminal would be that the criminal does not have the chance to go free and commit another crime.. possibly against the "average guy" or his daughter.

Honestly my man, if the guy that is just moving in next door to you was a convicted (and released for good behaviour) child rapist or serial killer... do you REALLY think the system works? Or believe in redemption when that person starts talking to your daughter?

I hope not.

Well, not always miko, but the average guy sure as heck does not rape or commit murder.

In my view, the moment they do that, they cease to have any rights.
