Suprisingly, and knowing that I'd destroyed AH, I really had fun tonite in the mid-war arena.
I know the old Nomads are getting blamed for AH's doom, but I must admit I was reminded a bit of my early AW days when that crew formed from guys getting to know each other while fighting each other out over the water in that game. No one taking it too serious cause it was a game, and often times doing silly things again because it was a game.
Early on tonite I said on 200 that the 80th would be between 43-44 looking to get shot, and guys showed up. Del and I had a great 2 v 2 against Goth and Helm in Ki-61s. Later Soulyss and I were talking to Engine, who is a Ki-84 driver and it was agreed to meet at 5k between fields. I told Engine I'd stay out and Soulyss and he went at it in a long 1 v 1 that they both enjoyed. Didn't need to DA it or anything like that, just folks having fun and enjoying the fights.
That's what I remember from the best of my online flying days. Enjoying the company and the fights. It was nice to see.
Then I come here and the tantrums are flying and I just shake my head at the foolishness of it all. After all I'd been shot down dogfighting in a C47 tonite. How can this be serious?
