If ya want go cheap  this is a good card for 130 , and will match up with a 3 ghz p4 nicely .

If ya want to spend more a X850pro is 149 , or a 7600GT for 179 . There are alot of different ones to chose from, an X1600 and 7600gs for 129 , if your going to be using that system for gaming for quite awhile , id get a 7600gt .

I looked at the specs on ur dell 4600 ,and it does have an AGP slot , but i couldnt find a power supply rating . If its 300 or better you shouldnt have a problem with most mid range cards

Yeah, there are a lot of good cards still available in AGP, but seeing as how the PC is out of date, I figured $100 or under for the price range (just guessing) The P/C will bottleneck anything much faster than a 6800GT imo And the 6600le I listed is only $55.99 after the $20 mail in rebate. It really depends on how much the person is willing to spend, seeing as how the increase is going to be slight past a certain point. Nothing against ATI, I've never used one personally.

I agree going past a certain point would be a waste of money , Buttttt , its still a 3ghz p4 :D . I was running on overclocked 2500 barton @3200+ and went from a 9800 pro to an X800pro and saw a nice bump in speed . While iwouldnt put a 7800gs in it , an x8xx card or a 68xx card would still show a nice speed increase . The 7600GT isnt any faster than an X8xx series card ,in fact its slower in some area's,  but it gives you Sm 3.0 if you have a use for it . All this depends on how far away a major upgrade is away for him . Heck even with my 3700 @ above FX57 speeds, its still my bottleneck.   :)

LOL, yeah...but it's a Dell; he can't OC it. 3GHZ is it, my Dell has a 2.8GHZ P-4 & my 6800LE I put in it is still limited by the CPU & system memory imo.
