Would it be a crime if she was 57? and his grade depended on it?  or if she weighed 300+ pounds?

she probably wouldn't leave the dang kid alone afterwards, she was probably really bossy and nagging, so he took the easiest way out possible, the kid got what he wanted out of the relationship lol, got to bag the hot teacher and his parents can now sue the school.

I'll have to apologize in advance, I no longer have access to Social and Economic works from a University Library and all my uni papers were done prior to the advent of MS-Word (actually, I have no idea where any of them are now - that's probably for the best), so I can't grab any data from them via the PC at church.

A while back, I used some data from an About.com article on another list and got burned badly. Since that time I've grown very wary about their stats and "essays." Many of their articles should carry either "opinion," "speculation" or "I'm making this up, because I don't have a clue."

But most of the data from the following online "AP Euro" cheat sheet looks fairly accurate and generally corresponds with the statistical histories I was reading almost 20 years ago. Wish they'd footnoted it though.

Edit: I should note the above are Western European figures, marriage ages were considerably younger in the far east for instance: "Between 1550 and 1931 the average marriage age of women in China was 16 to 19 years, therefore 5 to 10 years lower than in Europe" (Lee/Wang 1999:65ff.). - [Agriculture, population, and economic development in China and Europe, Breuninger Stiftung, 2003]

I think you're both pretty much right.  During Roman times, marriage was done much, much younger, but from about the middle ages on that changed, and, apparently, has since started to change back (though not so drastically).

I remember a teacher I had the hots for.

 Mrs Kroop was her name.

She taught the 3rd grade

Tall, Blond and hot as hell

But she was older then I and unfortunately. She refused to cheat on her husband dispite my best efforts

Oh man what my 8 year old body wouldnt have done to her.

I know when I was 14 it would have scared the crap out of me. At 16 I truly would have enjoyed it!  Some kids mature slower than others. I enjoyed being a kid as long as I could. She should have gone to jail.
