Old big map on hold starting small one :)
« on: September 15, 2006, 10:56:11 AM »
Ok with the new set up no big maps at least not for a bit so I have started this small one.

It is the dot in the center of my big map, thats all that would fit on the small map lol. I figure it should be easy enough to make everyone happy on this and I should have it done alot sooner... Most of the small maps have like 60 to 70 some odd fields so if I was able to get my big one to over 100 fields this chould not be hard. :)
I'm gonna try to make this similar to what I had but with more fields of course.

One thing with the new set up I think we could see many new maps because it is not near the task to make these small ones.

Ok just got the radiator out of the wifes car.......

You talking about 2 total zones for each country??  I don't know but you would think 1 for each country would be enough on a tiny little map like this. :)

You may want to add some rivers or lakes, to involve fleets and ports.

Work continues....  Got the land all roughed out this morning and added the small islands between the big ones..

Tomorrow I'll start filling in different tiles  (Rock/snow on top of high mountains, forest and such).  Maybe even start on base placement..... again.....   We shall see.

Anyway I'm off to fly now.

Been at work again, heres what it looks like as of this morning.

This is a 30 base per side set up.  Bases are fairly close togeather.. Should help in EWA and the furbies should like it..  Still has furball bases in the center with some form of TT to be added though it won't be the standard one in the center, I had an idea I want to try ;).  Also being a smaller map this allows for a coulple bases to be added to the center island per side that will help make use of the exelent terrain there.
Also I'm not done with some of the flaws yet like A25 and A18's field type should be swaped, things like that.

NOTE: While the furball bases are primarily intended for furballing they are in no way intended to be uncapurable... There will be no 20K walls around them so if some people manage to get your base you must organise to get it back, END OF STORY.

With no walls around it the goon won't have near the trouble of getting there.

If this map gets accepted in it's current form (after the rest of the bases are in of course) and we start seeing post after post of WAAAAAA they took our furball base I would totally support the HTC crew if they got rid of or modified those bases or if they asked me to do it in order to stop such crying.

I get so tired of seeing those threads and I don't even run the game. I can only imagine what type of pounding they have going on in those heads. :)

Any way  time to get back at it.

1 point you have some airfields about 1/2 sector apart that is to close.

You need to keep a min of 3/4 sectors apart.

AAAAAA!!!!! you do exist!!!!! I thought you were just a myth... :D

Yeah I see some but these are just rough placements also.   I keep shuffling them around over and over trying to get them where I want them :)

Ya know that would be a good additon to the error checker, so and so field is closer than 3/4 sector. ;)

Any way I have the fields roughly placed now on the southern continent for a total of 90 fields..

  Work continues.

Put lots of fjords and crinkly bits in the middle.  Those of us who worship canyon running on Mindnao need our fix.  They don't need to be chasms, just no level ground  :)
