Early war rockers

Ahem.

Now that we have all established out love and admiration for the new arena set up and all the uproar has died down into the normal level of background whining, it's time to talk airplanes...

US: P-39 "Iron Dog"
Russia: LaGG-3 "Varnished Coffin"
Italy: Fiat G.55 "Not bad for an Italian aircraft"
Japan: Ki-43 "Some day they'll name a motorcycle after me"
Germany: Ju-52 "Aunt Jamima"

Great choices!

I'd love to see what the P-39 with it's 4 MGs and 1-37mm cannon would do. :)
Most of the people you meet in life are like slinkies. Pretty much useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

G.55 was not an early war aircraft.  It was a very, very rare mid-war aircraft.

Try the G.50 or CR.42 for the Italians.

I was originally going to say:

Italy: Fiat G.50 "GAWD I'm UGLY"

but I changed my mind.  Even in the early war arena it would be pretty weak, and we already have a pretty weak Italian aircraft there.

It would utterly destroy anything in the Early War arena.

The G.50?  Are we talking about the same bis version with an open (semi-enclosed) cockpit, 840 HP, 4300 lb (empty), 2 50cal armed humpback whale?

It would hardly be dominant.  Ok, if you strap one on Drex's back it would own even the late war aircraft, but otherwise it's chum.
