For some reason, gif & other animated images don't work on my pc at home, but I see them moving on my work pc.  What setting is not turned on on my home pc?  Any guesses?

Go to "Tools" pulldown menu in Internet Explorer and select "Internet Options", go to the Advanced tab on the far right, scroll down and you'll come to a group of options under the sub-header "Multimedia". One of the options is "play animations in web pages". My guess is that is the problem.

Never tried firefox.  Is it basically the same as IE?  Better?

Are you running a program in the system tray/background that is removing the images?

Not that I know of.  The picture(s) is/are there.  They just don't move.  I'll post an example.  This does not move at all on my screen, I just get the image:

Hmmm.  It is definately an option in the Internet options.  Have you recently added or changed a media player?

Do you happen to have Photoshop?  If you do, then open the image in Adobe ImageReady.  It can open and edit animated GIF's.  See if the images are actually being recieved and stored on your computer as animated.

It works(is animated) in Windows image viewer, no where else.  I don't have Photoshop, I have PhotoStudio 2000 SE, which is basically the same thing(works in layers & all that).  I tried that, and Paint.  Doesn't move in either one, but in the properties, it does show it has a frame count of 20 and is a gif file.  Think it's a system setting on my pc & not just an internet setting?  Like I said it is animated in image viewer, just nowhere else.

Here's another one to throw at ya.  I have about 20 animated gifs saved on my pc.  The example that I posted above is the ONLY one that is animated in Image Viewer.  The rest just act like bmps, even though they are saved as gifs.  They are all showing as a frame count of 1 in Properties.  I wonder why it's not saving the actual full frame count,  just the first frame of the animation.

Yes. I use EZ Armor, which came with my ISP (RoadRunner).  Think that's it?  It's never gave me any warnings about anything I've ever downloaded.

I do not know if that is the issue or not.  Something is altering files on your computer.  Best thing to do is to try and get your computer back to a basic configuration and isoalte what is causing it.
