6th sense?
« on: September 15, 2006, 08:34:15 PM »
Anyone here beleive in a 6th sense?

Do you get feelings you cant explain about people that come to pass?
Do you ever know from miles(sometimes hundreds) away when something is wrong or sense turmoil in someones life you are close to?

do you ever sometimes "know" about events in peoples lives they havent told you about yet?

Anyone ever have it happen, consistantly?

The only experience remotely paranormal I've ever had was dreaming of my dad dying, and the implications of it, at the exact time he was being held up at gunpoint in a parking lot, on the other side of the planet.

Sometimes though, I can systematicaly tell what's under women's clothing.

A few times when someone close to me had died (but I didn't know about it yet), or was about to die, I got pretty damn agitated/restless... Much more so then usual.

Other times, I pretty much "knew" that it had happened.  Of course, these were for older relatives, and it was expected any day, I just happened to call it.

'Course, these things have only happened a half dozen times or so, so I wouldn't call it a 6th sense yet.  I'll get back to you when I'm 50 or so and see if I've changed my mind on that.

However, I wouldn't doubt the possibility - there have been a number of documented incidents of animals (and people for that matter) clearly knowing "something was up" when they really shouldn't have been able to.

I had something happen once. Don't want to go into details, but it was freaky.

Hell, yeah.
And my mum, she's got pretty much of this as well.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

When Ayrton Senna died in the F1 crash, I remember distinctly looking at his eyes in the starting grid thinking something bad is going to happen to him. Somehow I saw it from his eyes.

Same thing happened years later when I dreamt of Mika Häkkinen spin around in the air in his F1 and hit the wall and die - 3 days earlier that he spun around in his F1 in Melbourne, hit the wall at 130mph and would have died without a traceotomy performed by Sid Watkins. This could also be verified as I told about the dream to my mother - the accident happened exactly the same way as in my dream.

This is quite weird as I consider myself a sceptic and I don't believe in this kind of things. But what happened happened.

28 years ago when we were 1st married my wife dreamt our new phone number the night before the phone was installed, that morning they installed it and the number was one digit off what she had seen the night before. Later that afternoon, they informed us that there had been an error and that they had to change the number to the exact number she dreamt. she is/was more intune than I am. I think most women are by default.

it's there, just because some/most can't tune into it doesn't mean it isn't there for someone else who can/does

I do think there is more to the Universe than meets the eye, and there are moments when folks are 'tuned' better than they usually are.  Like picking up a radio station from the other side of the world for a few minutes because of some anomaly in the atmosphere.

Some folks seems to 'tune in' a little better than others, although the more extravagant the claim, the less I'll believe it (if that makes sense).

My wife comes from Eastern European/Russian Gypsy blood.  We make jokes about this 'sense' she gets sometimes, but I've learned to listen to her.  She doesn't go overboard, and doean't make nutty claims.  But when she gets that look, and tells me she really, really does or doesn't like the feel of something...I listen.

Now my Mom on the other hand (bless her heart) gets 'feelings' all the time and tends to over-react and get anxious and all worked up.  That, I just can't take seriously.
