point is, everyone is entitled to their opinion...some like it, some dont...but at least instead of just bashing those whose opinion dont agree with yours, state why you feel the way about it that you do.

I have no problem with the discussion at all.  It's the "I'm gonna take my ball and go home", tantrum guys that make me laugh.  It just isn't this serious.

This is what I like

-The plane matchups are more even.
-I believe smaller arenas will actually help build the community as each arena develops it's core of players and attitudes
-It allows for a change of pace if you want to bounce to another arena
-It allows the land grab guys to do their thing and the ACM guys to do theirs.  I've had more good air to air fights in a day then I'd had in the last month.

Biggest to me is that it gives us a chance to develop the community in each arena.  I'm at this point going to spend my time in Mid-war.  I'm going to work my tail off to try and set a decent tone in there, hopefully with the help of other folks too so that the competition is good and friendly since this is just a game.  With luck we'll minimize the vulch and horde effects and make it a place you  know you can find a fight.  It was happening last night and it felt great.

The only data used by HTC was the number of hours logged in the MA, AvA, and SEA by my squad in the last 2 years. I don't have the charts in front of me, having sent them to Grapewhine, but you can look it up through the scoring pages, IINM.

AvA was a change of pace...not used.   Im not sure why people think the fights are so better:confused:   The gameplay has not changed, not at all.  The only thing that has changed is the planes.  The HO'n, the picking, the running, the hording...its all still there.   Im not sure why everyone hates being picked by an La7 so much more than a 190?!   your still being picked, end result is the same.

Well, from my own personal experience, I didn't play AvsA because you pretty much knew what you were going to be facing.  And, knowing that, I had a pretty good idea whether or not I could just save myself a whole lot of time and just stay in the tower.

Case in point:  Early war AvsA. F4F  vs. A6M2/Val/Kate..whatever.  My fortune was always to up the F4F then promptly encounter an A6M2 and return to the tower.  Inevitable.

Now, with the early plane set enabled across all sides, I can encounter a TBM, SBD, F4F, < insert list of other craft here >, in addition to the Japanese craft.  The end result isn't anywhere near as predictable, so I feel I have a better chance of surviving.. and a FAR better chance of being able to run home when I expire my supply of boom-stick or go-juice.

Only way I can look at it Josh, is to make the best of it and hopefully if enough folks help set the tone in mid-war, maybe it won't be continually as you describe.  The fact that there isn't  one monster of a plane in there makes a huge difference to me in that when you enter a fight the other guy's going to be about even with you.  And it's not all Spit 16, N1Ks and LA7s

Will there be guys shooting HO shots and vulching?  No doubt, but maybe if folks  don't get sucked into that kind of silliness, those few who know nothing else may learn something new.

Probably wishful thinking on my part, but considering where the MA had gotten to, at least this opens a door to make it better.  Up to us to do it though so I'm going to stick it out in mid-war hoping to make it work.

i love the new setup . It helps to understand each aircrafts weakness and strength. Eg. Hurri I with 8 .303 is good at bomber killing , as it was in RL while the spit with less ammo and guns was better at taking on fighters . So hurri pilots take the incoming bombers leaving fighters for the spit boys .  It encourages knowing your aircraft and your oponants not just take up the fastest/strongest/ heavly armed plane and sitting over a feild all day straffing it.  Makes you think . The idea of Korea sounds great . Hope they no a vietnam version to, i'd love to roll in some hueys and AC130 gunships.

The setup is good. Although I have and probably will only fly early arena the possibilities are setting up good in the future. Imagine 6 months down the road a dogfighting contest between the 3 setups....winning team get....whatever dont matter just sounds like a good time!!!
