18 rounds where? It's what you hit...not how many times you hit. It only takes 1 hit....provided you hit the right thing. :)

i've heard complaint of the 109 losing engine when hit in wings, likely a bug that wasnt realized when 109 wasn't flewn as much. Since the changes, 109 flights have drmatically increased, & perhaps have xposed an old bug that previously went unnoticed. I bet it will be investigated if someone reports it as a possible bug in the BUG FORUM.

How about im in a P-40E, and I get TWO PINGS from a spit, and things dont fall off, I BLOW UP COMPLETELY!!! Ive taken much worse and only lost my flaps before, but in this, im suddenly made of paper mache and theZero's armor seems to have DOUBLED!!! I mean head on, blasting away at the wing root, and nothing happens to them!

I'm no expert, but I don't think there's anyway a 20mm cannon round should be able to knock out an engine or kill a pilot.

I disagree. A 20mm can kill a pilot, or knock out an engine. It CANNOT blow up the plane.

If the pilot gets killed, plane blows up...

By pilot kill, I meant pilot wound. But I fail to see how shooting the tail with two shots causes the whole plane to explode.

Yes, but just before explosion, it was my elevators that were red (I was flying with my damage list open, which I sometimes do) so there is no way a loss of elevators at 8k will make your plane go 'boom'.

Hurricanes are canvas over wooden frame. Cannon rounds are only effective when coming into contact with something solid. You could therefore theoretically put all your 20mm's into this plane and not cause any substantial structural damage..... Theoretically.

Yes, but is the GAME modelled like that?
