Worst call? Hardly.
A couple of seasons ago, PSU was doing pretty well. They came up against a tough team and were beating them, but just barely. The season was before instant replay (take note, this is important).
Anyway, the other team was driving for a score and pushing reasonably well. On 3rd and 10, the opposing team threw a 15 yard pass. The reciever went up in the air, making his body horizontal. The ball hit him in the stomach, and bounced straight down. At the time the reciever was about 5 feet in the air. The reciever fell ontop of the ball, and it was ruled a catch. PSU went on to lose the game, and their season sucked from there on out.
It is argued that it was this play and this play alone that was the sole reason that instant replay was reinstituted back into college games.
