Anyone still listening to it?

my station has gotten pretty good at knowing what I want to listen to.

http://www.pandora.com/?sc=sh27894081718229897

every now and the it plays a stinker, but not too often, plus I have learned I am a fan of some quite obscure types of music. also gotten to learn quite a few artists I would like to buy CD's from.

if you got a station whats yours?

I still use it occasionally.  While I have not bought a CD direct from the site, I have purchased a couple as a result of Pandora playing it at random.

Can you add more than one artist to a station. I added Arch Enemy , Iron Madien , then U2 and now all it does it play U2 and similar 80s bands. Does it just use the last artist you type in under add?

It usually plays whoever you added last the most for alittle while.

yup... but the longer you listen to more diverse it gets (or more focused in my case because of how limited the songs i like are)

so whats the reason why they are doing this? Are they datamining for a company? Seems silly to spend all that bandwidth and resource hoping someone will click a link to buy an album on Amazon and earn them a penny.

I listen to it sometimes.  The selection has expanded a lot since I first started using it so I've been listening to it more often, but sometimes it get obvious that their selection is limited.

But it's neat and I listen to it.

There is a utility that works with firefox that lets you "steal" pandora streamed music, but I don't know much about it since I don't use firefox.  But it's out there, and you end up with DRM-free mp3 files...
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

check out the website. it is part of the music genome project. pretty interesting actually if you read about it.

also, it has ALOT of independent artists from small lables on it, so for them it is getting their music out there.

one I heard about yesterday:

http://www.res-freq.com/

read abotu background music for foreground people. it sounds interesting, but i can't hear the stream here at work
