Early War Arena ROCKS
« on: September 21, 2006, 06:30:36 PM »
Hey all

I finally had the chance to get online and fly the new format.

I have been glued to EW, Why

1- INTENSE fights between planes like the Spitty-1, Hurri-1, TBM and the P40

2- Planes Like the Boston are no longer a hanger queens, I got into a furball with a spitty (I was in a fully loaded boston) and cut him to schreds..... (I got it on film lol)

3- Lack of H.O's (Yeah ppl are still HOing but its a lot less) there was a furball yesterday between 42 and 43. I found that the "RED" guys were not HOing PEROID. THe furball was awsome and I LOVED IT....

4- Meeting ppl with in the community that I have never (or very rarely) seen in the MA. I shot down Roscoroo ( I was gonna ya mate but I had a baddy chasing me), got taken out by furball, Lazs and Mars (at least I think mars got me ?)...

Note to all:
I have to give the BK a big . Why? you ask, well that HO less furball (the fight not the Pilot)  between 42 and 43 involved the BK's it was great fun.

All in all I have to say that the EW arena is awsome. I can't face the LW arena yet I know its just gonna be Spit16's LALA's and Nikki's and I have not tried MW yet.

Oh and for those of you that think the EW needs to be fleshed out with more AC, I agree but you cant say there is no variety in there at least I am facing a variety of NME's and not just the standard Spit16's LALA's and Nikki's. (DAMIT PPL there was a TBM , I mean how often do you see them in the air.)

To The HTC Gang, Thanks for EW, Thanks for the fun.

yea it gets pritty busy in there when one is Cutting up air ...

EW is alot like the AH main was back in AH1 days when  the angle fight and out manovering your opponent Ruled ...

ACM rules in this arena not the boom, zoom ,ho tactics  that you see in Latewar

If you didn't get HOed, it wasn't us. Probably some imposters. ;)

I do have to agree on the fights. Perhaps taking the high speed rides out of the equation has a bigger effect on the fights than I had thought, but aside from a few 6 on 1 engagements, I've had some great fights, ranging from 1vs1 involving 110Cs, TBMs, SBDs, and all the early war fighters to pretty substantial (considering the numbers) furballs. Good stuff. :aok

I was thinking I was gonna love it. But the P40 in there is more of a high end plane and when up against all hurri2,a6m,and spits, you have to be more bnz. Which I dont care for as much. I prefer the late war while in a p40. Instead 0f 10 guys being able to stick to you like glue theres only 1 or 2 in the pack.

You just have to move em when the whorde shows up to "help" gangbang the other side.

I love the EW I been in the LW and its the same as the MA LaLas, Spits, and Nikis hooin everyone, What kinda of fun is that. Anyone can take a plane fly it 500knts with the convergance set all the way out and land 6 to 10 kills. Hell I even done it. But that isnt why I pay for this stuff. I like the good ole fasion dogfight.  I have shot down a few LaLas, Spits, and Nikis when I get them to slow down.
EW is the best. Last night was the best night ever, I had some awesome long dogfights.  It was a blast for me and my target. We chatted on 200 after it was over and we both said it was the best fight we ever had.
EW ROCKS.  You actually have to have some skill to fly in here.

EWA is a blast... the lower overall speeds of the planeset kinda beg for closer fields though.

Anyone working on new small maps for the arenas?  If I knew how I would. ;)

I know what you mean by Long Dogfights, I was in one that seamed like it was going in slow-motion, Mind you we were so low that  I had trees going past my cockpit while I was looping....

DAM GOOD FUN

Yeah it all depends on who is in the arena.  Friday night totally sucked.  Nothing but high alt runners that wouldn't engage.  Cherry pickers everywhere.  I was completely bummed out.

Wed and Thurs were completey awesome!!!  So it truely proved that no matter what HTC does it still comes down to the community.

But your right mussie, it was great!  As soon as the Hordlets showed up, the furballers just moved to another set of bases and fun moved on.

Man Friday night sucked!  Seemed like the old MA all over again.  I wish they would up the numbers in the LW arena.

I agree with Quah. When it isnt high population time it is alot of fun. But as soon as theres close to 100 guys in there it seems like it reverts back to the old MA. The Hurricane is the new HO machine and the 109 the hit and run plane.

Maybe this will open peoples eyes to the fact that if the La-7 and N1K had been perked ... other planes simply would have taken their place.
