I'll go into the game and even just in the menus the game will freeze up randomly for no apparent reason.

and here is meh computer stats

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+
2.00 Ghz

896MB RAM

video card= nVidia Geforce 6100

When you say game freezes..... does the WHOLE game freeze or just your mouse cursor?

Have you installed the patch from AMD to correct dual-core issues?
