Over the last year I have done a lot of non flying because of old MA horde environment. Aside from useful, real life stuff I've spent way too much time on Civ 4 and started on Red Orchestra. The few times I've flown, it was mostly just to justify my monthly $15 support of HTC, with the hope that the MA would get better or maybe the CT would eventually deliver. Lately though, I was questioning my continued support for a game that had, over the past several years, ceased to be fun for any extended period of time and I was getting prepared to finally call it quits.
Now, although I'm at a busy time in RL, I'm looking foreward to keeping the subscription I was going to let drop and playing a lot more as winter sets in and my other obligations slack off a bit. My few trips to the new arenas have shown a lot of rust on my part, but I'm really liking the variety and the increased fighting. It's a partial return to the environment I found when first I shifted to AH from virtually same type of horde stagnation that had took over AW gamestorm in its dying years. Log on, no fight unless you join the gangbang or bend over and take it from the gangbang, log off.
AH1 for me was almost a return to fun of SVGA AW, and this is an encouraging development in that direction for me and what I look for out of these games.

[edit: It had got to the point that I became a whiney little drama queen on the boards about how unfun my gameplay had become, how much it sucked, how unfair, etc. "We need to stop the hordes! wahhh!" Finally I just realized it was only a game, it would follow its own course regardless of what I wanted or did not want, and I could either support it, find something that does the same thing better or move on to other things entirely. For $15 a month though it was cheap enough to "move on to other things entirely" and still get some value out of the occasional log on with the occasional good fight. But, when you think about $180 a year, I was starting to figure where else I could spend that money -- perhaps a new Enfield to add to the collection. Now, I guess not

I guess my continued subscription cancels out at least one of the leaving horde warriors.]
