Interesting thread. On one hand, there is association of voice with impressive physical demeanor. Arnold is the consummate big daddy solve all the world's problems go to guy.
No wonder you find that impressive. Most people do. Robert Shaw had a similar effect.
On the other hand, there is hearing an appealing voice without having any idea what the speaker looks like. I'm a big fan of several female voices on Public Radio. They could talk to me all day long. I don't think I want to know what they look like; might spoil the mesmerizing effect of their voices.
Perhaps we all want a father figure, a mother figure, and an erotic figure -- and those can be intriguing separate threads themselves.
