yes i know i requested this about a year ago. but i have revised the wish.

ok instead of being in a piloted ohka you fly the betty and target a ship in the fleet and release it something like an anti ship cruise missle.

mabye include a way to lock on to ships with a hotkey like tab for planes. we have ack already targeting enemy planes so there is some targeting AI so we could have the same system for the bombs and ships.

*dons flame retardent suit :noid  * what do you think of this one?

and please dont let this turn into a flame over the whole kamikazie thing.

Was it used extensively? Was it effective? Do you have pictures? How do you propse to avoid suiciders? If you can answer all of them with good answers, my vote is yes.

I don't recall the designation, but the Germans built and deployed a radio-guided anti-ship bomb.  No suicide nutbag required.

Go for that idea, and you skip the whole 'kamikaze' issue completely, while getting the same result.

Well, a lot of people here are for realism, so I would want it radio guided. The issue is how we are going to get two frequencies to intercept over the target. Unless of course we did the "tab" thingy, yet then the CV's would have tags.:(

My recollection is that the weapon was guided, via radio, by the bombardier using a joystick and visual correction.

If you're referring to the weapon intercepting two convergent radio beacons, I'm not sure that was required for the one I'm thinking of.

Maybe you'd have to switch to 'bomb guidance' (like we now switch to guns) and the bomber would go autopilot while the joystick would then be guiding the bomb.  Could even add an (unrealistic) 'bomb view' to make flying it in a little easier...

Or...for those with CH throttles...you could map the mini-stick to fly the bomb.

It would be the way to avoid the lazer-killer ship ack, that's fo' sho'

Yeah true, the double crossing beacon was actually to tell bombers when they were over their target. They knew then when to drop their bombs. Maybe if the radio signal is shot off like an infared laser from the plane? Because flying the bomb would require another addition to the plane count. Considering your dropping a mannable object from your plane.

Brave?  I would use the word fanatical.  Either way, they were fighting for a very evil cause.  Save your admiration for something more worthy.

OMFG!!!
YOU DIDNT JUST POST A LINK TO A WEBSITE THE GLORIFIED THE DEATH OF AMERICAN SERVICEMEMBERS!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF IS THAT HORSECRAP!
There was nothing honorable about telling people that they will go to heaven for commiting suicide.
There is nothing honorable about the murder of millions of chinese civilians to further a political cause.
There is nothing honorable about a sneak attack while flying the flag of peace on an american port.

I see nothing honorable about any of these actions.

Sheesh you guys calm down. He posted a damn cartoon already.

Back on subject BJB no telling if HT would go for a suicide weapon or not. Plus adding a radio guided weapon may cause more grief then needed. Just my 2 cents.:)

no need to throw a hissy fit because of some silly anime (err cartoon) :)

That was just a clip from a short movie "Sonic Boom Squadron" by Reiji Matsumoto (anyone remember "Starblazers" from the late '70s to early 80s? he created that)

part 1/3
part 2/3
part 3/3

Prozac anyone? Anyway, I wouldnt exactly call it gloryfiying, seeing as the Americans where the only ones who looked human. The Japanese seemed to be suffering from verying degress of Elephantitus.

IK3, the thing is, anime was created by the Japanese, seeing a film of anime glorifying what the japanese Kamikaze pilots did is telling you that the Japanese were blind-sighted by the government that this was an act of bravery that would earn them a trip to heaven. It IS gloifying the death of americans, that's just their religion. Shintoism is a religion where an emperor rules over you to help "aid" your decisions. If he says America is evil, they will glorify what their service members did to kill as many americans as possible.

So, thanks to that, I won't be visitng your arenas.

Using this reasoning everytime you shoot down an American plane in AH you're glorifying killing Americans. You guys need to lighten up. There is a huge difference between cartoons, games , and real life. Take it to Opra , or the O club.
