I'm seeing an inconsistency among those that dismissed Clinton's behavior, yet feel Foley has behaviour is so much more serious that his resignation is called for.

Le'ts see: A 40-something President, married, actually engages in oral sex, sexual manipulation of a cigar, phone sex with a teenager (Lewinsky was 19 at the time), then lies about it under oath committing a crime, and that is insufficient an offense to resign over.

An old Congressman (don't know his age -- probably in his 50s) sends sexually explicit Instant Messages to a 16-yo page, breaks no laws in the process of doing so, and that is sufficient an offense for him to resign.
The important standard in your reasoning seems to be that the page was a minor (barely), and that (puzzlingly) the solicitation was homosexual.

For the record, I find what he did to be absolutely ludicris, and if he didn't resign, it is my view that he should be expelled from Congress for such behavior.

One resigns, one doesn't.

You may be right, but I don't think he was slammed too hard in that article.  And that's what would determine if he'd get caught up in it, not the following articles.

I think that it's interesting that some unnamed folks in this thread are trying to argue that there's no difference between soliciting sex with a minor (aka pedophilia) and consenting sex with an adult.

Different cultures, I guess.
