Movie was ok - had parts from Top Gun, Pearl Harbor all rolled into one, but the dogfighting . . . . . . they spent half the time HOing!!!!!!!
A bunch of HOing dweebs - on both the German and the French side! UNBELIEVABLE!
I'm sure that when they incorporated the HOing sequences into the movie that they didn't realize that HOing was never a valid tactic in air combat, but then, what does Hollywood know, right? They even had Nieuports with one machine gun going head to head with DR1's with two - what kind of trade is that when you're outgunned by 50% from the get go? Those Spandau's should be perked!
But yes, I'll still buy the DVD when it comes out, even thouugh I think I liked the flying sequences in "The Blue Max" better - but I'll have to watch it again as it's been quite awhile and I could be mistaken . . . .
