If only that were true, perhaps folks could use their tax dollars to send their kids to a school that wasn't socializing them and they could get an eduaction insted of indoctrination.

LAMO I remember that! Though it wasnt my thing I remember it being popular

I also remember how those from "the hood" or "the Projects" as they were known at the time.
Used to like to wear them around their necks like a jewlery

another thing is that kids think that things we adults find amusing or serious enough to put stickers on or adds...  they find that to be corny...  it is not the sentiment but the effort... they find the effort to be corny..  they will vandalize any point of view that adults hold dear...

the darwin fish is no more or less hip to them than a support the troops sticky... to them... both are symbols of adult crap.   They get off on making adults angry or unhappy.  They get off on seeming to be bas bellybutton rebels to their friends while at the same time conforming to peer pressure down to the last little iota.

And there is the crux of the problem.  Ask the troops...most the ones I know say "Let us do and finish our jobs".  Sending em home before acheiving the mission is foolish.

Just sayin
