Ever since the classic characters from the 70's and 80's have left SNL, it isnt worth watching anymore

I've been an SNL fan since it was NBC's Saturday Night. I admit I strayed during the Eddie Murphy, Joe Piscapo, Randy Quaid, Anthony Michael Hall years. But the recent cast is pretty good and Darrell Hammond is greatness.

What will be telling about this season is if it can survive losing Tina Fey as head writer.

It's been pretty damn funny so far.  Especially that TSA skit and the Axis Of Evil skit.

I missed the first 30 minutes because of work, but the Clinton/Condi sketch was the highlight of what I saw. Darrell Hammond rules. I have to say overall the show (what I saw of it)was a bit flat.

As I expected the absense of Tina Fey's writing was evident. The new writers seem to be searching for a new dimension of behind the scenes comedy with the Brian Williams, Farrah Fawcet, and the water bottle story sketches. It seems awkward now, but maybe with some work it could be greatness.

It's clearly a rebuilding year.
