Id be satisfied with a .filmname command that would work from the tower to rename the most recently saved film.

I mentioned this before but now seams like a good time to punt it

I would like to have a buffered gun-cam option. This would work in the following way

1- Basically the camera records last 30 seconds of flight in a buffer

2- When you fire your guns it starts recording a film using the 30 seconds of buffered footage

3- 30 seconds after your last shot the film is automatically saved with the name PLANEID-TIME-DATE.ahf

4- The buffer starts again

I dont know if this is viable, but it would be cool...

I would prefer this.  I don't want every film starting as soon as I take off for a sortie that might be 10-15 minutes before I even make contact with the enemy.

Pats Hornet33 on the back, nice idea mate.

It would be nice to have an option to turn it off, film sortie by sorite, or record it all the way through & have it come up when you hit the quit button.

Seconded.
Always forget to record good fights and have lots of useless films. More informative name for films would be good also. Say __.ahf ("F4U1D_060701_11.ahf" for example).

maybe instead of haveing it start recordin when u shoot, maybe it can turn on when u have an nme in range. AS soon as that red pops up at 6.0k film starts rollin, maybe that will work?

Well the basic idea discussed with HiTech and Pyro was to have a Check Box in the options menu you can select that will start the film recorder everytime you spawn to start a sortie. When the sortie ends a pop up comes up asking if you want to keep the film or delete it. If you select "keep" it gives you the option to rename it before it saves it. If you don't rename it, it will give it a default name/number like it does now. Pryo seemed to think the coding for this would be pretty easy to do.

Anyway like I said in the original post, they asked me to place this in the wishlist, so everyone who likes the idea lets keep it at the top of the forum and get their attention on this one.

how bout an option that records when u shoot to b a guncam view like they had in WWII and record for bout 5-10 secs after shooting, and have noise or black & white option so it looks like vintage WWII footage, also scenery blur for movies/pics so it makes it look more realistic, just a few ideas

I have asked for the program to automatically ask if you want to append to the last opened film when you turn it on. Say no and it would start a new one.

Wanted to bump this. Seen a few posts on the General Forum where people saw something or did something but didn't get it on film.

This idea would fix that problem:aok
