Scientists plan on mixing human cells with rabbit cells to create an embryo that will be 99% human and 1% rabbit.

Reportedly they will allow the embryo to grow only 14 days, and then harvest stem cells.  I wonder who would be responsible for insuring that the franken-egg is destroyed after 14 days?

I'm wondering what would happen if they allowed the embryo to grow beyond that and insert it into a human womb?

Ethical or not, I'm convinced that this research will be done somewhere, sometime, and taken to its extreme whether we want it to or not.

Didnt any of these people watch sci fi shows as a kid? Dont they know what happens?  Does mixing the cells make them feel like they arent going to kill a human at harvest time?
