I was watching the science channel, and they showed goat embryos that were genetically altered so that they are 99% goat with 1% spider.
They had a goat farm, and milked these goats. In the goat milk was the chemical spiders use to make there webs. They were harvesting this chemical and making there own webs. Thing is that they said the human made spider web at this point is not as strong as the natural one, but that it should be in a couple of years. They also said that the spider web/line is the strongest natural fiber in the world.
The show was about how science is almost to the point where comic book super heros are a reality. I fell asleep but it was really wild.
