The lack of proper engine sounds has been a flaw of Aces High since it was created.  The availability of user-created addon packs doesn't eliminate that flaw.  Hopefully HTC revisits this issue prior to the release of 'Combat Tour'.

No game has really accurate sounds. The Il-2 series all aircraft have the same basic engine sound, only change is that its louder in bigger engines and modulates for multiples.

A P-38 sounds the same as a 109, which sounds the same as a Sturmovic, which sounds an awful lot like a Tony...

Thats why the custom soundpacks are great. You can record the engine sound directly from a video clip of the exact aircraft you want and use it.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

The Instruments might be in english (you know, because thats the language in which the game is published) but you may notice that the placement of those instruments is usually accurate for the aircraft.. Inclusive the cases where German and Japanese craft have the inverted instruments (zero down).

I have no desire to learn new languages just to play the game... English and english measurements are fine by me... Heaven forbid you ask to have altimiters in Meters... I'd leave :aok

i have also noticed that the 163 sounds the same as a 262.
Shouldn't it have a different sound due to its rocket powerplant?

There are several third party sound packs that can make it a lot more interesting...  look in the Custom sounds and Skins section of this bulletin board.
