no offence Ren, you hardly describe someone 'being on your 6' in the furball sense. then i dont suppose youve had much experience at that. 'passes' only happen in BnZ fights, or very high alt/lo skill fights.
having someone on your 6 to most of us means he is latched on and a long way away from 'passing' you after missing his shot.
what you need to do in the yak to shake someone off your tail is the same as in any plane.
work out your opponents planes abilities and then work to make them overshoot your flight path.
there are many topics here to help your overshoot tech, just do a search for 'overshoot reversal' at the bottom of the training forum page.
and the yak most certainly is no a spit on steroids. its closer to mix of P51 and 109. flies absolutely nothing like a spit and if you atempt to fly it as you would a spit you will suffer hugely.
the Yaks strong points are speed, accel., climb and roll rate. stability is poor, especially in slow turns, but at speed it will loop very well with the correct throttle work.
